Don't know if word has filtered down to the folks around here or not,
but Byron Preiss, who's been a major figure in comics and SF over the
years as publisher, writer, developer, all kinds of stuff...my own
books were just reprinted through his imprint...was killed in a car
accident last night.  Details at --
